The lounge par excellence:
you're in St. Mark's Square
The location of Hotel San Marco in Venice is a dream: right in the historic center, just a few meters from St. Mark’s Square and the Ponte dei Dai. A location from which you can easily reach museums, monuments and Venice’s attractions.
St. Mark’s Square is the heart of Venice, an extraordinary sitting room surrounded by the elegant porticos of the procuratie that house the ancient cafes and their orchestras, which provide romantic, unforgettable moments every season that you can’t escape!
The Doge’s Palace, the splendid St. Mark’s Basilica and the high bell tower that dominates the city offer the chance to come into contact with the history of the Serenissima, discovering all its most important treasures such as the Council Hall or the famous Bridge of Sighs.
With a short walk along the nearby mercerie, the city’s main commercial artery, rich in shops and boutiques, you will arrive at Rialto, where you’ll be stunned by the original architecture of its famous bridge and the lively atmosphere of the city market.
Going from the hotel towards the Grand Canal and the Ponte dell’Accademia, you will find the boutiques of Calle Larga XXII Marzo, great for stylish designer shopping. Just a few minutes away on foot, you’ll reach the famous La Fenice Theater.
Staying at Hotel San Marco means more than just having easy access to the landings of the boats sailing towards Venice Lido – home of the prestigious Film Festival – and the lagoon islands, Murano, Burano and Torcello.
Venice’s “Marco Polo” International Airport is on the main land (the Tessera locality) and is 15 km from the hotel. You can reach the hotel with the “Alilagina” water shuttle, which leaves every hour from the airport, going directly to San Marco / Giardinetti Reali (60 minutes travel time / tickets can be purchased in the “Arrivals” area of the airport). You can also get to Venice by taxi or with the ACTV bus line 5, which leaves every half hour and takes about 35 minutes to reach Piazzale Roma. From there, take the vaporetto, line 1 (to Lido) or line 2 (line N, nocturnal, after midnight) and get off at the “Vallaresso” (San Marco) stop.
Santa Lucia is Venice’s train station. On your left as you leave the station, you will find the private landings for the water taxi and vaporetto going directly to San Marco, lines 1 and 2 (Vallaresso stop).
Exit Highway A4 and follow the signs for Venice / Piazzale Roma (the car terminal). Leave your car in one of the guarded parking lots in the terminal, and take the water taxi or vaporetto (line 1 or 2) directly to San Marco and get off at the “Vallaresso” stop.
